A Clean Energy Solution for Your Home

At Propane Plus Heating & Cooling, we're passionate about providing reliable and eco-friendly heating solutions to your family. Did you know that propane is a clean and efficient way to heat your home? Let's take a look at how propane is made and why it’s a great choice for your family.

How is Propane Made?

Propane is made during natural gas and petroleum processing. What this means is propane is just a byproduct, or left over, and it’s collected to offer you a clean alternative to heat your home, warm your water and power your stove.

What’s even cooler is propane is now a renewable energy! So not only do we take leftovers from natural gas and petroleum we can make our very own propane! With help from the Camelina plant, vegetable oils, animal fats or used cooking oil we can produce a renewable propane that has an even lower carbon intensity rate than our already clean propane.

Why Propane is a Clean Energy Choice?

Propane is considered one of the cleanest-burning fuels available today. Here’s why:

Low Emissions: When you burn, propane it produces fewer greenhouse gases than fossil fuels like coal, gasoline, or diesel. Propane actually emits 43% less greenhouse gases than electricity from coal-fired power plants and is much less harmful to the environment.

Non-Toxic and Safe: Propane is non-toxic and won’t harm soil, water or our furry friends. If there we ever a leak, there is no costly clean up either propane just dissipates into the air. This makes it a great choice for outdoor uses, like grilling, patio heating, and more.

Efficient Energy: Propane furnaces, water heaters, and fireplaces, convert a higher percentage of their fuel into usable energy. This means less waste and more savings for you over time!

Cleaner Air: Since propane is a low-carbon fuel, it helps improve the air quality in your home. Propane Plus can help you reduce your carbon footprint while keeping your family comfortable.

Choosing the right heating system for your home can feel overwhelming with so many options available. Two popular choices are electric heat pumps and propane heating systems with either a furnace or boiler. Let’s break down the key differences to help you make the best decision for your family: 1. Performance in Cold Weather • Propane Heating: Delivers consistent warmth regardless of outdoor temperatures. Propane systems excel in sub-zero weather, keeping your home cozy. • Electric Heat Pumps: Efficiency drops significantly in freezing temperatures, often requiring supplemental heating. 2. Cost of Operation • Propane Heating: Lower operational costs due to high energy efficiency and stable pricing. • Electric Heat Pumps: Higher electricity costs can lead to expensive heating bills, especially in colder climates. 3. Environmental Impact • Propane Heating: Clean-burning and low emissions, making it an eco-friendly choice. • Electric Heat Pumps: Electricity generation may rely on fossil fuels, increasing your carbon footprint. 4. Maintenance and Lifespan • Propane Heating: Durable systems with long lifespans and minimal maintenance needs. • Electric Heat Pumps: More frequent maintenance required to ensure efficiency, with shorter overall lifespans. Ultimately, propane heating offers reliability, affordability, and exceptional performance—especially in cold weather. Want to explore your options further? When temperatures drop, propane keeps your home warm and comfortable. 3. Environmentally Friendly Propane is a clean-burning fuel, producing fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to other fossil fuels. By choosing propane, you’re making a greener choice that’s better for the planet. 4.
